Hi! I’m Stephanie, nice to meet you.
I’m Stephanie Mier, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and first-generation Ecuadorian American, born and raised in the Bronx, New York. Growing up, therapy and mental health weren’t things we regularly talked about at home, and seeking therapy wasn’t something that felt familiar or commonplace.
That experience has shaped the way I approach my work today. I understand that for some people, reaching out for therapy can feel unfamiliar, uncomfortable, or even conflict with messages they received growing up about handling problems on their own. You may be the first person in your family to seek support, set different boundaries, or begin talking openly about things that were once left unspoken.
My goal is to provide a warm, culturally responsive, and judgment-free space where you don’t have to leave important parts of yourself at the door. Your culture, family experiences, relationships, values, and personal history can all be part of our work together.
